The Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society & DAWG raised more than $150,000 at the 9th Annual Spay-ghetti Dinner, held June 1 at the Marriott.

The money will further the group’s mission of providing essential services and care to animals in need. The funds will be key in reopening the medical clinic; expanding community outreach and education programs; and enhancing efforts to help more animals find loving homes.

The Spay-ghetti Dinner was headed up by executive/medical director Shana Schank, DVM, and board chair Carla Mead, whose leadership and passion were instrumental in making it a success, the organization said.

Thanks are extended to the following supporters:
Grand Reserve Champion: The Wood-Claeyssens Foundation.
Grand Champions: All Creatures Great and Small, Imerys, Coastal Valleys Roofing, Rio Vista Chevrolet, Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, Santa Ynez Pet Hospital.
Best in Show Sponsor: The Starter Farm.

“We are immensely grateful to everyone who contributed to the success of this event. Your generosity and support are the backbone of our organization, and together, we are making a difference in the lives of countless animals,” Santa Ynez Valley Humane Society & DAWG said.
