Frecce Tricolori, the world renowned acrobatic team of the Italian Airforce, will pass over the skies of Santa Barbara, 11:30 a.m.-noon July 9, and will release their tricolor trails to greet the city’s Italian and Italian American communities.

The Santa Barbara flyover is part of a North American Tour that brings the Frecce back to North America after more than 30 years.

For the occasion, Raffaella Valentini, the consul general of Italy in Los Angeles, will visit to Santa Barbara, along with Emanuele Amendola, the director of the Italian Cultural Institute.

Joining them at the Cabrillo Pavillion at East Beach to watch the Frecce Tricolori will be Santa Barbara Councilmember Oscar Gutierrez.

The event will be followed by a luncheon organized by the Transnational Italian Studies Program at UCSB.
